            Assessment, Counseling and Consultation

in St. Louis, Missouri since 1981

Ann Dell Duncan, Ph.D., J. D.

I  am trained in the experimental analysis of behavior, clinical psychology and the law. I have been:

  • Professor at Yeshiva University in New York City, Antioch University in Keene, New Hampshire  and Webster University in Hamilton, Bermuda
  • Director of a pediatric-neurology, diagnostic clinic at the University of Minnesota Medical Center
  • Director of a non-profit, psychological clinic serving the state of New Hampshire
  • Consultant for the Trevor Gibbons Unit, a forensic hospital in Maidstone, England
  • Consultant for Fair Haven (woman's addiction treatment center), the Bermuda Police Service and Department of Public Prosecutions
  • Chairperson of the Ethics Committee of the Missouri Psychological Association
  • Professional trainer for a variety of agencies, including  the Office of the Missouri Public Defender, Missouri Department of Family Services,  American Bar Association, and the National Resource Center for Defense of Child Abuse

I am licensed as a psychologist in Missouri and New Hampshire and registered in Bermuda. I have been in private psychological practice in St. Louis, Missouri since 1981.

In therapy, I work with adults, couples, families, and children of all ages, struggling with traumas and transitions. The work is focused on what is needed by the client, so that the process is one of facilitation. The treatment model is eclectic, with mutual decision making at the base.

In the forensic setting, I provide assessment and consultation in cases involving adoption, custody and visitation, abuse and neglect, suggestibility of child testimony, sexual harassment and competency. I am also a trained mediator.

Ann Dell Duncan is my professional name. My legal name is Georgianne Dell Duncan-Hively. Sometimes this causes problems when you look for me in insurance company data bases, but eventually I can be found in most of them.

Wells Hively, Ph.D.

I was trained in psychology and behavior therapy by the famous B.F. Skinner and the well known professor of psycho-educational measurement John B. Carroll. I have been:

  • Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychological Foundations of Education, University of Minnesota, and Director of the University’s Psycho-Educational Center
  • Director of Spaulding Youth Center, a residential treatment center for behaviorally disordered, learning disabled and autistic children
  • Director of Research and Development for CEMREL, a National Educational Laboratory in St. Louis
  • Director of Research for The Learning Incentive and Ben Bronz Academy, a school for learning disabled children in Hartford, Connecticut
  • Clinical Director of The Family Center, a non-profit agency in Bermuda
  • Consultant for The U.S. Department of Education, The Ministry of Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt,  and the National Health Service in Maidstone, England.

I am married to Dr. Duncan. We are both licensed as psychologists in Missouri and New Hampshire and registered in Bermuda.  I spend part of my time in private psychological practice in partnership with Dr. Duncan, where I serve as an expert in psychological assessment.

Therapeutically, I work with clients who struggle to manage distressing behaviors like sexual addictions and gambling.

I spend the rest of my time in research and writing from a psychologist's perspective about social problems,
